Grand Millennial style has been smouldering in the wings for a few years, and our Quintessence tablescape definitely plays on some of the themes of this trend yet adds a modern twist to this vintage-inspired look. Grand Millennial, or Granny Chic, embraces the idea of dusting off vintage pieces and prints to mix with modern design, to breathe new life into the heirlooms of our past.

Whilst Grand Millennial was the inspiration, what developed was a tablescape that can be styled to embrace vintage or ultra-modern.
It all began with one plate – the MG design by Mervyn Gers Ceramics. This is a classic piece that I’ve loved for years, and I felt deserved to be drawn out of the archives and celebrated anew. I wanted to mix it with a rich rosewood colour to ground the design in classic elegance. Having fallen for the Stuart Graham fabric chosen for the tablecloth, which features a mix of delicate rose, purple and pink florals, the rosewood came to take its place in the accessories framing each place setting – in our exclusive fringed napkins, the candle colour and tumbler.
When it comes to flatware, what better way to bring a hint of modern style than with sleek 18/10 gold cutlery. Vintage-inspired glass candleholders allow for clients to choose to add in either additional gold or glass (or both) accents in their decor, depending on what’s on hand.
With a whimsical floral backdrop, this look is perfect for both indoor and outdoor entertaining.
